IPv6 VPS
More than 18 quintillion addresses for your server alone: one per website, service or VPN, if you like.
IPv6 and a dedicated IPv4 address on every plan, so your services reach IPv6 and IPv4-only users alike.
Set reverse DNS (PTR records) for your IP addresses yourself in the control panel. No ticket needed.
Own an IPv6 /48 or IPv4 /24? Announce it with BGP on our network (AS213495) for $10 per month.
Many mobile networks prefer IPv6. Add an AAAA record and your site is reachable over IPv6 directly.
Most images configure IPv6 automatically. If yours does not, our guide shows how to match the panel settings.
An IPv6 address is 128 bits long. With a /64 the first 64 bits are fixed for your server, and you can use the remaining 64 bits freely: 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 addresses. A /64 is the standard size for a single network, so your VPS gets a whole network of its own instead of a single address.
Compare your system with the IPv6 address and gateway shown in the control panel, then test the connection:
ip -6 addr show
ip -6 route show default
ping -6 -c 4 google.com If the address or gateway doesn't match the panel, follow our guide to configure IPv6 on your VPS, which includes a Netplan example for Ubuntu.
To give a website or service its own IPv6 address, add another address from your /64 to the network configuration, next to the first one. With
Netplan, add a line under addresses, for example 2001:db8:1234:5678::20/64, using your own prefix instead of the example,
then run netplan apply. Point an AAAA record at the new address, and set its reverse DNS in the control panel if you need it
(guide).
If you have your own IPv6 /48 or IPv4 /24, our BGP / BYOIP service lets you announce it from our Frankfurt network for $10 per month. See our network and ping times for more about the network.
